March 12 好强的THESIS!前两天收到JANE一封信,要大家开始选THESIS TOPIC。今天闲暇时随便看看,不意看到这个TOPIC。。。实在太牛了。。。有机会一定要找这个PROF谈谈,让他以后多罩着我们UTESC一点~
Professor Greg A. Jamieson Code Modification of a PC Strategy Game Complex strategy games typically pit human players against a combination of human and machine opponents. The human players manually control a myriad of game components to achieve higher level goals. Meanwhile, the computer employs algorithms to generate plausible opponent behaviours. In some games, the designers have included subroutines to automate aspects of the manual task (e.g., city managers in CtP II & Civ III ). However, the human player does not generally have the option to automate broader sets of civilization management tasks. Given that the algorithms are already in place to allow the machine to automate these broader management tasks, it should be possible to modify the code structure to take over some of these tasks for the human player. This is the goal of the present thesis topic. We are interested in modifying the (C++) code for Civilization Call to Power II (CtP II) to allow human players to use existing automation subroutines to take over manual management tasks. This modoificationwill support our research on adaptive automation and adaptive user interfaces. The project will take place in two consecutive thesis projects of one term each. The descriptions of each one-term project are as follows: Fall term 2005: Design and implement a code modification to allow human players to enlist one automated subroutine upon game startup. Deliver working game code and comprehensive documentation. Spring Term 2006: Continue the previous project, but modify the code to allow the human player to select from a broader selection of automated subroutines in real time. Deliver working code and comprehensive documentation. This thesis is open to ONE exceptional Engineering Science, Electrical or Computer Option student IN EACH TERM. Alternatively, ONE student may complete BOTH terms in a year-long thesis. The ideal student will be a player of strategy games (preferably including Call To Power II). 现在好不容易有一点时间休息一下,下星期的SCHEDULE总算可以不用让人眼花缭乱了。。。

大男人不好做,再辛苦也不说,躺下自己把忧伤抚摸。。。
